7 years - BIKESEVEN Cycle Service est. 2009 AD

It was September 2009 that Levi and Daan opened the doors. Peter Phillips, who was one of the original partners, had returned to his former employer and the rest is history as the saying goes. That first month Danny MacAskill testrode one of our early Bionicon bikes in Gretna at the first-ever Bikeseven-on-Tour event in Gretna. The thinking was we would just be servicing folk with an interest in Mountainbiking. However the service has since developed to an offer for a wide range of cycle disciplines. All over the area cycling has become a favourite pastime; In the Carlisle district we were the catalysts for some fine BMX tracks, we enjoy working with the event organisers of the City Council. Over the years we have been involved in a wide range of cycle and training events for Young People. In the City Bikeseven hosts the fantastic annual Border Cycle Show - what a ball in the Ballroom!

In Eskdale we support enthusiastically the Langholm Cycling Club and the vibrant Muckle Toon Adventure Festivals. In the Borders Bikeseven served at races and sportives, organises Night Rides and Demo Events in partnership with Rock UK and other cyclofanatico organisations. Together with Dave and his team at Spar Newcastleton we have a range cycle accessories ready in-store. The Cross Border Sportive is a local success story with well over 100 participants each year. Friends in Gretna and Lockerbie organise annual cycle sportives with a charitable purpose and we love to support them. Electric cyclists from all over Dumfries and Galloway enjoy the eBikes, we have supplied, with new gusto. In Annandale the seeds were sown at the Galabank running track for the start of the wonderful Annan Youth Cycling Club.

It would be great to make a video presentation of all these marvellous cooperations but then we would not have any time to serve you and that is what it is all about. Bikeseven is one of the smallest Cycle Shops in the UK but our aim is you benefit from great service. Sometimes people (specially from the States or Europe) ask how many people work at Bikeseven - the answer is invariably “All”. The compact team, currently made up of Alex, Beverley, Daan, Grahame, Levi and Shane, work their socks off in order that all our customers will enjoy their bike(s) even more.

We are grateful for the fabulous support from customers and suppliers - this too has been vital. The effort of all involved has certainly been blest and we look to the future with renewed enthusiasm. In the past seven years we have met with our now world famous friend Danny MacAskill all over Europe and he has been inspiration to us. Bikeseven may not be a global brand (yet) but we hope to provide a worldbeating service.
May you all too take time to enjoy your own Wee Days Out on your bike.
